This Privacy Notice explains how AI Safety Nuremberg (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles your personal data when you visit this website or get in touch with us. We keep things deliberately simple: no cookies, no analytics, no tracking, and no third-party scripts.

What data we collect and why
Visiting the website. This site is hosted by Cloudflare, a US company. When you visit, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address in server logs to deliver the site and protect it against attacks. This is based on our legitimate interest in operating a secure website. Cloudflare acts as our processor under a data processing agreement and uses EU standard contractual clauses for transfers outside the EU. All fonts are hosted on our own server, so your browser makes no connection to Google or any other font provider.
Contacting us by email. If you email us, we use your address and message to reply to you.
Joining our Signal group. Joining happens in the Signal app and is governed by Signal’s privacy policy. We only see the profile you choose to show in the group.
Data retention
We retain your data only as long as necessary. Emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your request. Server logs are kept by Cloudflare for a short period for security purposes.
Links and social media
On our website there are links to other websites, for example LinkedIn, Signal, or Unsplash. This Privacy Notice does not apply to those websites. You should read their policies before sharing personal data.
Your rights under GDPR
As someone whose data we process, you have rights under the GDPR. These include the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct anything that is inaccurate or out of date
- Ask us to delete your data when it is no longer needed
- Limit or object to how we use your data in certain situations
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format, where technically feasible
If you have concerns about how we process your personal data, we encourage you to reach out to us directly first. However, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the LDI NRW.
